Services

I specialize in copyediting, developmental editing, and proofreading nonfiction manuscripts, articles, business documents, and branding projects. I work on a wide range of genres, such as academic, business, self-help, history, educational, and memoir.

Types of Services

Before you hire an editor—whether me or someone else—it’ll help to be familiar with the lingo.

Since the industry uses terms for specific stages of the publishing process (what one person calls proofreading, another calls copyediting, etc.), I’ve written about the various types of editing to help you decide what your work needs at this moment and the next.

Types of Works

I copyedit and proofread nonfiction manuscripts, articles, and similar documents.

I also offer interior layout design for books, e-books, journals, magazines, business reports and documents, and other materials, spanning both fiction and nonfiction works.

Genres

I edit exclusively nonfiction books; articles for journals, magazines, and websites; blog posts; business and marketing material; and more. I edit and proofread a wide range of genres:

  • business
  • academic
  • self-help/personal growth
  • professional development
  • psychology
  • sociology
  • philosophy
  • history
  • social commentary
  • natural sciences
  • social justice
  • educational
  • memoir
  • cookbooks

And if you don’t see your genre here, I’d still love to talk more about your project. Part of my job is to act as the eyes of the reader who may not be as familiar with your topic as you are. My lack of formal training in specific fields often helps to ensure your message is as clear as possible to all your potential readers.

Rates

Since each project is different, I don’t list fees. When it comes to rates, I typically follow the Editorial Freelancers Association rates. I give a project-based fee after a consultation and sample edit, if applicable.

Free Consultations

If you are interested in working with me, let’s chat! I offer prospective clients a free 30-minute consultation, and we can see if we’re a good fit. I’ll ask for the total word count, your time frame, the depth of review you’d like, and your areas of concern.

If you’d like a free consultation, use the form on the contact page.

Additional Rates and Fees

If you need a project done sooner than we originally agreed, there will be a rush fee as needed. If the scope of the work has changed, fees will be adjusted.
